The George Lacson Project at 50 Mason Social House 3/11/11

My good buddy Ryan Frias invited us out to the 50 Mason Social House in SF since his friend George Lacson of the George Lacson Project was performing a set of infectious live funk, jazz, and blues. Francis was behind the camera for the night to create a short promo video for George.

The venue was upscale and the music was funky and poppin'. The proceeds for the night went towards the disaster in Japan so I bought a bunch of raffle tickets for a brand new guitar but sadly didn't win :(

And here's Frias' girlfriend's sister Reina performning with George and the band:

Fun night indeed and expect the video soon! And for any of you who enjoy discovering great music or like supporting local artists, you can buy his album here.

Update 3/22/11

Here are some stills from the soon to be released series of promo videos from Francis Basco.

California Academy of Sciences Nightlife

I always wanted to check Nightlife out ever since a classmate of mine who is a bartender there did a presentation on it last summer (never underestimate a good presentation!) Whoever had the idea of opening up the museum for a 21+ crowd is a genius - apart from generating revenue for the museum, the weekly event has been a hot spot for dates. What better place to get drunk and show your intellectual side to impress that new date?

It was a great night out, even though every model of a gorilla we passed had Britt yelling out, "Look! It's Ryan!" Sherman got his groove on when nobody else would and JJ got his book The Darwin Awards Countdown signed by the author.

And here are my photos from the night from my iPhone of some of the exhbits:

And here are photos from JJ's point n shoot:

If you're around the SF area defnitely check it out (usually every Thursday night)! Not all the exhibits are open but there's defnitely a lot to see. Be forewarned though, the event costs $12 per ticket ($10 if you're a memeber) and it closes at 10pm!

The Infamous Weebly Christmas Party at Manor West

Weebly threw their annual Christmas party and I was finally of official age to attend! Weebly is my favorite startup and I was lucky to intern for them for nearly a year. Britt and I took Bart into the city and finally tried out the crepe cart I always walk by to the SingleGrain office. The night was fun with 3 open bars, an awesome DJ and dancefloor, and catching up with my old co-workers. We capped it off with a limo to end the night!
